Little amazing boy

It was a usual weekday night. I am dead beat and was spacing out on the sofa. Little bub was playing his mega blocks and i wasn't caring too much about him. Suddenly, i realized that he was unusually quiet and i turned to look at him.

Little boy was stacking his singular mega bloks into a tall, tall tower ... and putting the donut ring into the tower. I thought that was quite amazing ... the association that he made. To create something long so that he could hoop his donuts in. And when he was done, he went on making the tower, trying to balance on the table. When he ran out of the singular blocks in his hands, he went back to the bucket. He took a rather long time, and i peered closer. And then i realized, though he had one in one hand .. he was trying to look for another one. WHOA! my 15 month old knows how to multi-task and be efficient! I thought that normally kids would pick one, stack one, and then go look for the 2nd one...

So there was Andre, patiently stacking his tower. When it grew taller than him and he couldn't reach, he pulled out the tower mid length, stack the top tile and fix the bottom back to the original tower. Really give thanks to God for my boy's wisdom. Of course, it wasn't all successful at one go. sometimes the tiles will fall, sometimes they will break mid-way. But Andre was full of concentration, determination and focus on his objective. Trying over and over again. I am glad he didn't give up and throw away his toys in frustation. Good job son! (I have this inkling feeling that one day he might turn out to be an engineer like his mom. Oh dear, hope you don't fall into the same shit hole as me. Engineers work long hours with low pay in Singapore)

Later in the night, we were having some rough play on the bed, and dad flipped Andre 360 degrees a few times. Dad and i were talking about some stuff, and before we realised it, Andre was doing somersaults himself. We were speechless and our jaws dropped opened. Are 15 month olds supposed to somersault by themselves. He repeated a 2nd time for us and was chuckling in thrill all the way ... Well, he didn't manage to do the 3rd time ... but Kevin insisted that he has already learnt the skill.

And so dad and I went back to chat, and Andre was roaming the bedroom ... doing his usual stuff eg. on-ing and off-ing the TV repeatedly, pulling the socks from the drawer (we are so used to it that we turn a blind eye to it). Suddenly, he walked to my bedside table, took the camera casing, and walk to the TV console (where the camera is) and tried to put the camera back to the casing. OMG! Since when did he make this association?

What an amazing night. 3 surprises in the night. This is a very fun age to be with Andre. He never fails to surprise and amaze us with his antics. I can't wait till he learns how to talk.

Feels like shit

I just want to say i feel like shit this morning.

The mistake was to take that plate of greasy beehoon with luncheon meat (which 2 hours later i can still feel the greasy stain on my lips). But i have no other choice in our canteen. There was mee rebus, curry puffs, fried spring rolls.... get the point?

And so i am here wondering how pregnant am I... Next thing, i'm in the bathroom throwing up non-stop. Yeah right .. I am pregnant. It must be ... if not, why am i feeling like shit ...

And so, this is my complaint for today. The queasy feelings brings back warm memories of the time i had with Andre. But on a bright note .. they say, the more symptoms you feel ... the healthier the pregnancy is ...

Meanwhile, besides the CCR meeting which i am so not looking forward in the next 10 mins, i really feel like going home, lie on the bed and think of nothing ... actually that is what my brain is of now ... BLANK

Our latest member to the Zhang family

From today onwards, the dynamics of this blog is going to change. Cause it now does not revolve around one little guy, but another precious that God has sent our way.

It is the morning of 16th January... all bleary-eyed and half awake... I dipped the pee-stick and watched the watermark flow to the test line/control line zone. *Blink blink* ... hey, the red line came up on the test line (and on the control line!)

Holding my breath *hmmm.... sometimes, they will appear and disappear after a while.. let's wait and see*

But the line remained. Bright red and stark. (Unlike kor kor's one whom daddy and mummy had to squint in the light* And there it is, caught us with a little surprise (Yes, we are planning to have a kid, but we didn't expect so fast), a lovely miracle sent to our house by God on a Sunday morning.

From my LMP which is 13 Dec 10, our baby should arrive by 19 Sept 11. I hope we have the same birthday.

15 Months

Little bub is 15 months now. What a twinkle of an eye.

This is our daily routine:
6 am: Mummy wakes up
6:30 am: Daddy sends Mummy to Clementi MRT
8:00 am: Andre takes first milk and daddy sends Andre and Aunty Yuli to po po's place
9:00 am: Breakfast time. It can be Frisocream or bottled food ( i stored so much of these that i need to finish them before they expire)
10:15 am: Andre takes 2nd milk and nap
12:00 am: Lunch time.
12.30-2.30 pm: Play time
2.30-4.30 pm: Andre takes 3rd bottle of milk and nap
4.30-5.30 pm: Play time
5.30 pm: Dinner time
6 pm: Mummy arrives home
6 pm- 7 pm: Mummy either goes for a jog, or brings Andre to the playground
7 pm: Daddy arrives at po po's house for dinner
8 pm: we go home
8-9.30 pm: play time with daddy and mummy
9.30 pm: Last and 4th milk feed of the day. Plays the "Gong" game with mummy and mummy puts Andre to bed.

Well, the routine is like this with rough variations.

At 15 months:
1. Andre can walk up the stairs with the help of the wall. By the health booklet, he should have been able to do that by 21.5 months.
2. Says 2-syllabus words : the first one i heard was bub-ble
3. we have a chart of boy and girl's pictures ... he pointed to all the boys and said "kor kor"
4. Loves cars and recognises them. Often, he will take his toy cars and says "ca ca"... or this small board book where he'll flip to the last page and points to the car pictures "ca ca"
5 . Indicates "No more" by flipping his empty palm upwards. Happens most frequently when the music/song suddenly stopped or when he finished some activity
6. And rushes to the window when he hears the train coming. Loves watching the train and waving to the passengers. Again, when the train passed, he will show "No more" hand signal.

He's really a good kid. When we went to class last sunday, Andre was playful and curious, but he was not disruptive. When the teacher took out a new toy or cards, he will walk up confidently to peer curiously what is being given out. However, he will not reach out to grab rudely, he just wants to see what is happening. And when the teacher asks him to take, he will look at us first, and if we says ok, he will take the item and bring it back to us. Not bad huh! Kevin and I are so proud of him, he definitely understands what is happening around and I'm amazed how mature a 15 month year old can be.
