14 Months:Time Flies

OMG... Time flies. Went on my new job, no time to update .. and suddenly
Boom! it's 2 months since i last blogged. So much stuff to backfill in.
Even the pictures have lessened.

Updates on Andre:
1. Has learnt to walk at exactly 13 months. As of now, he could walk very fast. When we opened the door, he could walk to the lift to press the "down" button. He knows there are 2 lifts to press. Smart huh .... reason why he does not press the "up" button is because he is not up to the height yet.

2. Understand instructions (Learning is like almost an instant). Will comb hair, knock head, clap hands, bring things, kiss kiss, hi 5 etc.

3. Doesn't says a lot ... but when he passes you things, will go "NAH". His "Ma ma" is particularly melts the heart (I think Kevin is very jealous of that). He goes "Kaka" for the maid. "Ka ka" for the car. "Da da" for dad. and "kor kor" for brother. "Bah" when he hides his eyes with his hands and plays peekaboo. That's about all for vocab. Haiz ... but i know he is very smart, just yet to articulate. When he wants to say "no more" or "how, what's next?", he'll open his palms upwards.

4. hates to wear his diapers. Each occasion is a battle.

5. Falls asleep by himself. Put Andre in his cot. He'll self entertained eg. throw out his pillows, bolster, blankie... and when he realized no one is bothered about him, will find a snuggly corner and doze off.

6. Favourite toy: My wallet. He likes to take out each card ... and gives my money to his dad. I wonder why is it not vice versa

7. Shy boy. Afraid of strangers and new places. Will cling on like a koala bear (I secretly feel very pleased when he does that) .. means i'm his security mah. Likes going for walks in our gardens... touch the grass, touch the leaves (from the smooth to the prickly) ... touch the water, climbs up and slide down the slides.

8. Contipation problem. Not adventurous on food. Zero fruits and juice. Only takes water and soup for liquid. Even if i added a little glucose, he'll spit out everything. For food, he likes my porridge best! But hey, look at the amount of stuff i put in for him, scallops, carrots, vege, fish, egg etc.

Overall, this boy is a perfect 10 in my eyes. Very endearing and is my life line. Very cheeky, playful and adventurous in his own way. Sometimes he drives me mad with all the kicking, screaming and howling ... but at the end of the day, he still falls asleep in my arms, knowing that i'll be there for him. He knows that i am his Ma ma :)

Just the other day, he pulled out all the paper roses from the glass container. Walked to me and said "NAH" with a big grin on his face. Well, what can i say ...

12.5 Months: 1st attempt at self feeding

It takes tremendous effort to be able to feed oneself. First, you need to hold the spoon steady, then you need to direct the spoon to your mouth. Then you need to aim, open and close the mouth at the right time.

And Andre did it! Doesn't he look like he is advertising for Skippy?

And another skill he acquired. Vibrating his lips. Gets a kick from all the spraying saliva.

12.5 month: To the Bird Park

Mummy took a week of unpaid leave to rest at home before her new job. Really need the break due to work burn out. So on a bright Monday morning, mummy, dua yi, Adelle, Lucas and Andre made their way to the bird park.

Too intrigued with the flamingoes, it was hard to get Andre to look at the camera...

Enjoying a biscuit snack before the show starts

Eagles and hawks swirl and fly...

With the pelican . Adelle jie jie was hogging Andre's pram throughout

I love this picture! And for once Andre guai guai sat there and stare into the camera for his picture to be taken.

At the bird show, where the parrots played basketball, talked, sang and did the most amazing tricks!

At the mad-made waterfall

12.5 Months: When mummy goes shopping...

What do you do when your mommy is shopping for shoes?

First, you target her handbag...
Then you take out her wallet. (But make sure she is not looking)...Then you open the wallet...

Then, you start playing flashcards!

Hardly able to walk yet, Andre could crawl to any corner, climb and stand and grab whatever he needs.

Mummy has painstakingly stuck magnets to each flashcard to the wall. Hope Andre can get some picture education soon!

Having a great swing session with dad!

Kindermusik

Andre has a great sense of rythm, and we thought a music class would do him great. Everytime he hears something with a beat ... he will be nodding his head away. Very sharp ears. So we decided to try kindermusik. But oh dear, the cirriculum this semester is so boring that i almost fell asleep in class. I could see that Andre was bored too!

so Kindermusik is out too

12.5 Months: Scaling slide by himself

Andre can scale the slide up byself, (not by the stairs though). Turn and slide down by himself. Who says we need to wait for the adults.

Bath time.

12 Months: Ma Ma

This evening in the car, suddenly Andre started calling very slow and earnestly: Ma ma... Ma ma... Ma ma... My heart melted immediately

Growing up Gifted

Andre's first art piece learnt through finger painting.
Won't comment too much except that we felt that it is unsuitable for Andre at the moment. He still cannot sit still so it's hard for him to learn in a structured environment. I think it will not be beneficial to him at the moment as we felt the course was too advance.

My 2 favourite guys

12 Months: Andre takes his first steps

After a few months of crawling... (Andre had been standing since 5 months old), Andre finally decided to let go and take his first steps. Not that i was really gan chiong, and i heard its good that babies have a period of crawling as it enhances some of the hand eye cooridination skills, but it seems like the day of walking would not come soon. Andre was more than comfortable zippnig around by crawling.

Aren't I'm so glad that i was able to capture the first brave step? Good job son! Mummy is so proud of you!

one years old

Andre was in a super duper happy mood and he couldn't stop laughing non-stop that night. How can you resist such a charming pre-bedtime grin ...

Love my touch and feel books

12 Months: Starting to Walk

Out of the blue, Andre stood up, and ran 5-6 steps to catch a toy on the floor. We were all stunned. This marks the beggining of our boy walking. Woo hoo! Since the episode, Andre could stand rather steadily for a few seconds (that provides that forgets that he is actually standing) and could walk 2-3 steps before falling.

Meanwhile, outside with his walking shoes, you could hold him by a hand and walk very far. Please learn how to walk faster son, nai nai wants you to walk so much that she even dreams of it at night.

One Years Old: Another weekend playday

I'm a little drummer boy and here's my Enfagrow!

An d i can hold my bottle in one hand

While Andre was rumaging his toys, in his zest, he fell head in, with legs kicking in the air. Gives me a shiver as i think of those poor children that accidentally falls and drowns in water.

1 years old: Andre figures out the shape sorter

I can't believe that one year old are capable of doing that, but that was what my son showed me. First by slotting in the circles and then the triangle, square, hexagon and star.....

12 Months: Blood in poo poo

What a panic, Aunty Jay-ann found a soiled diaper again! This is the 3rd time since the chalet. This time round, the poo is soft, so it couldn't be abrasions on the backside. Getting worried and called Dr Ong. After we went down, Dr Ong said its only a case of mild stomach flu. Phew! Nothing to be alarmed, and no samples required. But well, i still feel a tinge of worry la, what could possibly be a cause for the bloody stools?

Andre is 9.3 kg now, and 73.5 cm tall.

On a brighter note, had the chance to play with Andre tonight .. Guess what?!!

He figured out the shape sorter. He could orientate and slot in the star, circle, square, triangle and flower. This boy never fails to amaze me.

12 Months: Andre learnts how to blow a recorder

Well, i don't know how else to describe, but its one of the toy hammers with the shaft as a flute. This morning, Andre figured out that he could create a loud POOT! by simply blowing and after that, the whole journey was POOT! POOT! POOT!

12 Months: Socialising

After gong gong's party, Andre was in a hyper mode... So we went to the playground for him to dispense out some of the energy. The active boy climbed up the slide and slid down by himself (on his tummy). Hates it when i stand too near, i guess it gives him a restrained feeling. And he did that for the next 20?? times? alternating between the 2 slides. And when he finally got bored, decided to crawl to this mother and young child. He stood from a distance, staring at them. And when he got their attention, started to play peek-a-boo with them. I don't think i will ever forget the moment, the playfulness of his gorgeous big eyes; i suddenly realized my son is a big boy now. He is starting to socialise... in a very matured manner.

Suddenly, i have the urge to enroll him in some play school to be with kids. He'll have a blast! But at the same time, i know he wants mummy to be around him as well, to feel secure as he checks out this strange big world.

Andre broke Ma Ma's neck

Andre broke daddy's one sometime ago. Then he found ma ma standing there rather lonely. Then he decide that ma ma should have the same fate as dad....
This is my 'unfilial' son.

1 Years Old: Andre goes cycling

Before we reached, little bub fell asleep in his car seat. Wanting him to fullycharge his batteries,we let him sleep on for another 40 mins.

Our little front passenger
It was fun for a while... but i think it got boring for him after a while. Well, the lovely sea breeze against the face ...Sleepy
Here's Jayden with his papa
Our famiy pic
After cycling, we went to play with the water. Andre seeing, Jayden and his 2 cousins play in the sand, wanted to join in the fun too! He overcomed his fear of the sand.
And holding papa's hands, Andre walked a few steps... getting all ready to go home to show nai nai his new skills.
Happy Baby after a Happy Day at the beach!
