KKH called me today... said i fail my OGTT test. Below 7.8 is ok, but my results is 9.9. Now ordered to go for a full day nutrition course. Abt $300, but claimable by medisave.
I think I can say bye bye to durians. And also my favourite mooncakes which is coming up soon. I adore those ice-skin, lotus paste with chocolate crusted champagne centers. My husband is secretly pleased. Cos he saw me walloped one big plate of hokkien mee the other night and was horrified. Now i'm forced to take note of what i eat.

28 Weeks 4 days: 7th month check up
Check up after London trip. Did OGTT (Oral Glucose Tolerance Test), actually the syrup i had wasn't that bad, and i manage to glup it all down. Baby is well, 1.3 kg for 28 weeks. Dr said ok. Dr grinned at me and said i put on some weight, then i went to compare last month's results. Kaoz, put on 4 KG!... now in major depression. I thought i only put on 2 kg.
Nowadays when i climb the flight of stairs to my office, i'll pant pant for a while at the top. And getting out of the sofa, or when i'm getting up sitting on the floor is starting to be a chore

28 Weeks 1 Day
I am suddenly craving for tom yum soup soo much... and my hubby simply wouldn't move his butt. There is this myth, if the pregnant mummy does not fulfill her cravings, her baby will drool like mad in future.
Last night, i had this episode that was so surreal. I didn't think whether i was asleep or awake, but i was reaching out to rub my belly and there was this hard spot. Almost as i placed my hand, i thought i felt a limb, but it nudged away almost immediately so i was unsure.

27 Weeks 5 Days: Civic Conscience
Talking about being civic conscious, if Singapore is bad, London is even worse. When i take the train, no one bothers to give up their seat; their eyes just stare blankly back at you. And i was wearing a mask throughout my trip even when i go out, and the people will deliberately cough very loudly and clear their throats and make very snide remarks on the swine flu. No wonder the flu spread is so wide there, cos everyone is in denial and nobody cares.
27 Weeks 5 Days: Updates on baby
Nowadays, i can feel baby tumbling sometimes left side, sometimes right side, and that area will tighten. When i sleep on my left side, i can feel him kicking, like protesting not to sleep on him.

25 Weeks 6 Days: Baby's been so quiet
My baby is super quiet today since morning; can hardly feel any movement, if not nothing. No matter how i probe my tummy, he also boh chup me... i am getting worried, should i? are they supposed to be so quiet sometimes? i tell my hubby, but he keep telling me not to disturb our son...
Update:
Last night, i got super gan chiong after i played babyplus and the little fellow didn't respond! Drove down to KKH, delivery suite for a check up at 10 plus(this was what the nurse advise after i called the KKH hotline). They listened for the bb's heartbeat and strapped me to the CTG machine to monitor. Barely after i lie there for 10 minutes, my boy start to bounce and tumble happily *^$#@^$!! dunno whether to be angry or happy also. After 2 hours of monitoring, $55 (which i thought was pretty reasonable, was expecting them to charge me at least $200) and a grumpy hubby... i made it home pretty relief la (and of cos embarressed, cos the recep nurse grin at me, "1st time baby rite?")
On hindsight, i would have spend the money. Who wouldn't want a peace of mind. Better be cautious than regret.

25 Weeks 3 Days: Knock knock
I find my baby more active in the evening. He is pretty quiet during the day, but can feel the occasional knock and roll
It has been an upward trend for my weightsince the beginning... and i just wallop one box of durians tonight *living in more guilt* but ok la, so far my gynae has not said anything about the weight gain

24 Weeks 4 Days: To jab or not to jab?
The H1N1 bug is the hot topic nowadays and London is one hot spot.
I'm thinking of getting the flu jab... but there are 2 schools of thoughts so now i'm also hesistant. Some say dun anyhow inject chemicals into your body cos these have not been extensively tested on pregnant woman yet; but some say jab liao will boost the child's immunity as well. My gynae has no objection, ask me to check with GP. But most GPs i called with jabs available are reluctant to jab me. Now question is to jab or not to jab ... haiz
Just a mini sidenote:
Richard Li's gf gave birth to baby boy recently. He gave her HK$200 million worth of assets and baby has 5 body guards and 4 full time nannies to look after. Here i am, complaining that a S$2K confinement lady is very expensive. Haizz... different people different lives
